About the MCC
Our club provides a forum and gathering place for amateur and professional photographers at all levels of accomplishment. It allows members to share their experiences, to increase their photographic knowledge, to obtain new stimulation for their photographic activities, and to make new friends.
The Monmouth Camera Club was founded in 1979. Its meetings take place twice a month on Thursdays, from September through early June at 7:00 PM. The club belongs to the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs and currently has about 120 members.
Due to the current pandemic our meetings are hosted on Zoom.
The meetings provide a balance between lectures, discussions, competitions and field trips. They also inform about other photographic events outside the club.
Lectures and discussions span a wide range of topics. Most speakers are highly accomplished photographers or are professionals from outside the club.
The meetings also provide members an opportunity to receive help on photographic questions or on buying and selling photographic equipment.
Competitions are held for color and black-and-white digital images, color prints, and black-and-white prints. By separating beginning, advanced, salon and master photographers, the contests allow members to compare their work and compete with others at their own level of accomplishment. A major objective in the competitions is to receive constructive critiques from the judge.
